PEG-Intron, a longer-acting form of Intron-A for treating hepatitis C

Schering is now introducing PEG-Intron, a longer-acting form of Intron-A for treating hepatitis C.

PEG-Intron is the first "pegylated" interferon.

It's made by linking polyethylene glycol (PEG) to Intron-A (interferon alfa-2b). PEG slows the metabolism of the interferon and makes it longer-acting.
